A Prophetic Work of Refining Fire

Sacred Fire is a prophetic work birthed through encounter, formed in worship, and confirmed through testimony.

This piece reveals the nature of God as both Lion and Fire—His authority, His jealous love, and His refining presence in the midst of human suffering.

At its core, this work carries a message:

The fire of God does not destroy His beloved—it refines, restores, and reveals His glory.

The Origin of the Image

The foundation of this artwork began with a real encounter.

In October 2011, while visiting the Smithsonian Zoo, I photographed a lion during a moment of worship and praise. As I sang to the Lord, the lion emerged and positioned himself in a way that captured both strength and presence.

I later discovered that this lion’s name was Luke, meaning “light-bearer.”

Over time, I have come to understand that God layers meaning into my work—through the subject, the moment, the symbolism, and even the name. Each layer becomes part of the prophetic message carried within the finished piece.

This lion became the foundation for two works:

  • Lion on the Throne

  • Sacred Fire

The Formation of Sacred Fire

While developing this painting, I sensed that something was missing.

At the same time, my personal life had entered an intense season of trial. My son was caught in a cycle of addiction and imprisonment, and the weight of it brought deep emotional anguish.

During one of his times in prison, we had a significant phone conversation.

While speaking with him, I began to paint.

My mind was engaged in the conversation—but my hands were being led by the Holy Spirit.

Layer by layer, I painted:

  • golds representing the glory of God

  • oranges emerging through the movement of fire

  • deep reds revealing the intensity of His love

At the very end, without conscious intention, I placed a small flame within each of the lion’s eyes.

In that moment, the painting became complete—not artistically, but spiritually.

The Encounter

Shortly after completing the piece, I entered a moment of deep personal breaking.

Fear, despair, and hopelessness overwhelmed me as I faced the possibility of losing my son.

In that place, the Lord spoke:

“Beloved, look into My eyes, and you will see fire.
This fire is the reflection of your fiery trial.
I AM jealous for your love.
My gaze is on you because I love you.
You are Mine, and I am yours—FOREVER.”

This encounter became the defining revelation of Sacred Fire.

The Theology of the Fire

Scripture reveals that the fire of God is not merely destructive—it is refining, purifying, and transformative.

  • Hebrews 12:29 — God is a consuming fire

  • 1 Peter 4:12–13 — Fiery trials reveal His glory

  • Isaiah 61:1–3 — Beauty is formed from ashes

The fire removes what cannot remain.

It purifies what is true.

It reveals what is eternal.

This is the nature of His love—holy, jealous, and transforming.

A Proven Testimony

This work is not only prophetic—it is confirmed through lived testimony.

After years of addiction, imprisonment, and despair:

  • My son was restored

  • He has lived in sustained sobriety

  • His relationships have been healed

  • His life has been redeemed

What once appeared as destruction became a testimony of restoration.

This is the fruit of the fire.

The Lion and the Gaze

The Lion of Judah in this piece is not depicted in aggression, but in focused authority and unwavering attention.

His gaze is central.

The fire in His eyes represents:

  • awareness of your trial

  • participation in your suffering

  • unwavering love that does not turn away

He is not distant from the fire.

He is present within it.

A Declaration

Sacred Fire stands as a witness:

The fire did not destroy.

The fire refined.

The fire revealed the faithfulness of God.

For the One Viewing This Work

If you are walking through a season of fire—

If the weight of life feels overwhelming—

If hope feels distant—

This piece carries a truth for you:

His gaze is on you.

His love has not withdrawn.

And what feels like fire will not consume you—it will refine you.

Artist Statement

My work is devoted to revealing the character of God and our identity as His Bride.

Each piece begins in worship, is formed through encounter, and expressed through the integration of photography and digital painting.

My desire is that every image becomes more than something seen—

that it becomes something experienced.

To glorify Elohim and encourage His Bride.
