Watchman Lion

"He calls out like a Lion. My Lord, I stand on the watchtower all day long, I stay at my post all night."

The Story Behind the Image

This commanding prophetic painting depicts a majestic lion perched on a rocky outcrop against a golden sky, his powerful form silhouetted against the sunset, his gaze fixed and unwavering. His paws rest firmly on the stone, his posture alert and ready—this is the watchman who never abandons his post, who stands guard day and night, and who calls out like a lion when danger approaches.

This is one of my signature pieces—a visual declaration of the watchman anointing and a powerful call to men to rise up, take their position on the wall, and fulfill their God-given mandate to protect, guard, and intercede.

The inscription declares Isaiah 21:8:

"He calls out like a Lion. My Lord, I stand on the watchtower all day long, I stay at my post all night."

A Call to Men

This image is a call to men—to fathers, husbands, leaders, warriors, and intercessors—to step into the watchman anointing and take their rightful place on the wall. Men are called to be protectors, guardians, and defenders—not just of their families, but of their communities, their cities, and the purposes of God.

The lion in this image represents the strength, courage, and unwavering commitment that God has placed within every man. You were not created to be passive. You were not created to retreat. You were created to stand your ground, guard what matters, and call out like a lion when the enemy approaches.

Ezekiel 22:30 declares, "I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one."

God is looking for men who will stand in the gap. Men who will take their position on the watchtower. Men who will refuse to abandon their post, no matter how long the night, no matter how fierce the battle.

He Calls Out Like a Lion

Isaiah 21:8 describes the watchman who calls out like a lion—not with a timid whisper, but with a bold, authoritative roar that cannot be ignored. The lion's roar is a warning, a declaration, and a battle cry all at once.

Men, you have been given a voice. You have been given authority. And God is calling you to use it—to call out injustice, to declare truth, to warn of danger, and to roar in intercession over your family, your city, and your nation.

Proverbs 28:1 says, "The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion."

This is the boldness God has placed within you. This is the courage that rises up when you take your position as a watchman. You are as bold as a lion because the Lion of Judah lives within you.

I Stand on the Watchtower All Day Long

The watchman's commitment is unwavering. He doesn't stand guard only when it's convenient. He doesn't abandon his post when he's tired. He stands all day long. He stays all night. He is faithful, vigilant, and relentless.

This is the call to men—to be faithful in the long haul, to stand guard over what God has entrusted to you, and to refuse to give up, even when the battle is long and the night is dark.

Habakkuk 2:1 declares, "I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me."

The watchman is not passive—he is positioned, alert, and expectant. He is watching for the word of the Lord, discerning the times, and ready to act.

The Rocky Outcrop

The rocky outcrop where the lion stands represents the high place, the place of strategic advantage, and the firm foundation from which the watchman operates. This is not ground-level living—this is elevated perspective, the ability to see what others cannot see, and the authority to declare what heaven is saying.

Men, God is calling you to rise to the high place—to step out of the valley of distraction and compromise and take your position on the rock. From this place, you can see clearly, stand firmly, and guard effectively.

The Golden Sky

The golden sky represents the glory of God, the dawning of a new day, and the hope that comes when faithful watchmen stand their post. The sunset is not an ending—it is a transition from one watch to the next, a reminder that the watchman's work is never done, but the glory of God sustains him.

For Fathers, Husbands, and All Leaders

This image is perfect for men's spaces—offices, man caves, prayer rooms, and anywhere a man needs a visual reminder of his calling. It declares:

  • You are a protector. Your family, your community, and your calling are under your watch.
  • You are a warrior. You were made for the battle, and you have the strength to stand.
  • You are a watchman. God has positioned you on the wall, and He is counting on you to stay at your post.

This is not just art—this is a declaration of identity and purpose for every man who sees it.

The Watchman's Mandate

This image is a call to every man: Take your position. Stand your ground. Call out like a lion. And refuse to abandon your post.

The world needs men who will stand on the watchtower. The Church needs men who will intercede. Families need men who will guard and protect. And God is looking for men who will say, "My Lord, I stand on the watchtower all day long. I stay at my post all night."

Will you be that man?
