Awaken the Watchman
"Come up here, and I will show you what must take place in the future." — Revelation 4:1
The Story Behind the Image
This prophetic artwork depicts two majestic eagles perched on a stone bridge over cascading waterfalls, their piercing eyes fixed on the horizon. The inscription declares the call of the watchman from Revelation 4:1 and Habakkuk 2:1: "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place in the future... I will stand at my guard post and station myself on the lookout tower. I will watch to see what He will say to me."
This is a divine summons to the watchmen—those who are called to stand on the wall, to see from God's perspective, and to declare what is coming.
The eagles represent the watchmen—those with sharp vision, high perspective, and the ability to soar above the chaos and see what others cannot see. Eagles have the keenest eyesight of any bird, able to spot prey from miles away. Spiritually, the watchman is one who has been given eyes to see into the spiritual realm, to discern the times and seasons, and to perceive what God is doing.
The waterfalls represent the flow of God's presence, the outpouring of His Spirit, and the constant movement of His purposes. The watchman is not stationed in a dry, barren place—he is positioned where the living water flows, where the presence of God is active and alive.
The stone bridge represents the place of transition, the crossing over from one season to another. The watchman stands at the threshold, watching what is passing away and what is coming into being.
"Come up here" is the invitation from Revelation 4:1—the call to ascend to a higher perspective, to see from heaven's vantage point, to step into the throne room and receive revelation about what is to come. This is not a casual invitation—it is a summons. God is calling His watchmen to come up higher, to see what He is showing them, and to declare it to His people.
"I will stand at my guard post and station myself on the lookout tower" is the posture of the watchman from Habakkuk 2:1. The watchman is not passive—he is intentional. He positions himself. He stations himself. He watches. He waits. He listens for what God will say.
This image is a prophetic call: Awaken, watchman! Take your post. Come up higher. Watch and see what God is about to do. The future is unfolding, and you have been called to see it and declare it.
"After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, 'Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.'" — Revelation 4:1
"I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint." — Habakkuk 2:1
"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." — Isaiah 40:31
